Computer Runs But No Display
When the computer runs but no display is shown:
-Ensure that the cord connecting to the monitor and computer console is tightly plugged in. Ensure that power is also being received by the monitor. This may be one reason why the computer runs but no display is shown.
-If there are two video ports on the computer, try the alternate video port with your monitor.
-Try resetting the CMOS (article coming soon).
-If your computer runs but no display is present, also make sure that your power supply is able to handle the load of your video card and that it is set to the correct voltage level (about 115 volts in North America and 220 volts in Europe; dependent upon where you live).
-Ensure that your video card is compatible with your monitor.
-Try turning off your computer and then turning it on again in 5 minutes to see if this fixes the problem.
If these measures do not work and the computer runs but no display is still shown, check to see if your external video card (if you have one), is fitted tightly into motherboard and then try again. If this doesn't work, and if the fan on an external video card is not working, your video card might be broken. Otherwise, if your monitor does not display the text "No Signal" or something similar, your monitor might be broken.
